Season Review & Stats

Now that we have reached the end of the Season we are able look back on some notable performances and publish the end of season stats.

In a season which threatened to never happen due to the on going threat of Covid, Dove Holes entered one team into Division One of the Derbyshire & Cheshire Cricket League in which a shortened season was played out.

We played 9 games, won 4 and finished mid table in 5th place.

With the bat, Dan Gilbride led the way hitting 168 from 6 innings with a high score of 55. Just behind was Ben Bagshaw scoring 166 from 6 innings with a high score of 67 hitting 2 50s . James Gemmell also hit 2 50s and had the teams best average of 31.8. The highest individual score of the season was from James Gemmell who hit 80 against New Mills. The best partnership of the season came between Adam Critchlow & Ben Bagshaw who hit 71 for the 3rd wicket against Hayfield.

With the Ball, Dan Gilbride led the way again with 15 wickets at an average of 9.13. Captain Sean Critchlow picked up 13 wickets and bowled at an impressive economy rate of 2.32 with 28 maidens from 71 overs. Ben Bagshaw also got double figures with the ball taking 11 wickets. We had 3 five wicket hauls from Sean Critchlow – 5/10 against New Mills and Dan Gilbride – 5/18 against New Mills, 5/23 against Woodley.

In the field, the Collins’s had safe hands with both Kieran and Wayne holding on to 4 catches each.

Thanks again to Captain Sean Critchlow and the pool of 19 players who turned out during this strange season!
