Broadbottom 212ao v Dove Holes 241-6

Dove travelled to Broadbottom on a glorious day, won the toss and batted first on a good looking track.

In reply the hosts lost a couple of early wickets but impressive middle order hitting from Pool and Riley kept Broady in the hunt. Dove however held their nerve picking up regular wickets as the hosts fell just 29 short on 212 all out. All Dove bowlers were impressive but it was Gilbride’s day finishing with 4 wickets for 25 as Dove progressed to the Semi Finals.
SECOND TEAM | HAWKE TROPHY
Newton 203-9 v Dove Holes 202-7
Dove lose by 1 wicket
Dove travelled to Newton and were asked to bat by the hosts. Despite losing a few early wickets the Dove middle order of Turner (43) Gregory (58) and skipper Verno (23) built the innings and meant Dove were able to reach a decent total of 202-7.
In reply Cory Flint bowled a superb spell of 8 overs 6 wickets for 18 runs to leave the hosts on 67-7. The hosts dug in to take the score to 158-9 and despite having some way to go the Dove bowlers couldn’t take that final wicket and the hosts reached the total with a couple of overs spare to progress to the semi final.
