Final day of the season having secured the league title last week.
Grego won the toss and had a bat on a track that has produced plenty of runs over the last month or so. Today was no different.
Hally and DJ opened up and put on a superb partnership of 124 before Hally picked out the man in the deep for a quick fire 67. Bags then joined DJ at the crease with these 2 adding the 6th highest partnership in Doves history of 162. With DJ bringing up a brilliant ton along the way. Baggy chopped on for 75 off only 49 balls with Dove 286-2.
Gem joined DJ at the crease and entertained reverse ramping first ball - reverse sweeping and switch hitting his way to 32 off 15. DJ fell with the score on 308 for a great 106 and Gem with the score on 322.
Dove added another 38 to take the score to 360-6. The third highest in Dove history and the highest at Hallsteads.
In reply Gilly took 2 wickets with the first 2 balls of the innings, Eddie taking one in the gully and a caught and bowled.
Skipper Gregory then had a direct hit not far from the boundary to leave Potts chase in tatters at 8-3. Gilly picked up another to finish with 3 wickets with the score on 20.
From here Pott managed to get up to 127 thanks to some change bowling. Gem finishing with 3 wickets, the skips 2 and the Duke with 1.
A good win for Dove to top off a great season for the club.
A shout out to all the volunteers who make the club run and to anyone that’s supported us along the way. Winter well.

High Lane 140ao v Dove Holes 127ao
High Lane win by 13 runs
On the final weekend of the season Dove travelled to league winners High lane with hopes of a win to finish the season strong.
Dove lost the toss and where put into field a decision they were quite happy about as skipper Flint picked up two wickets in two balls to reduce the hosts to 12-2. Cory picked up another wicket leaving High lane 22-3. Dove felt they were on top however some smart batting from high lane punishing the bad ball allowed them to rebuild.
Dove were tight in the field and bowled well with Hilly and Joe picking up 2 wickets a piece and Ste and Roy with one each.
High lane ended on 140 all out with pick of the bowers being skipper Flint picking up 4-20. Keeg was also electric with the gloves picking up three stumpings and a catch to potentially win him the averages. Shame he couldn’t catch Bundy later that night
In response Dove started shaky quickly being reduced to 11-2. However managed to rebuild thanks to a steady 15 from chez and KC using all his 9 lives. At 75-5 the game could have easily gone either way however Dove couldn’t find a way a past High Lane as Ste left a straight one and Dove finished 127 all out. 13 runs short to finish a season the twos should be happy with and look to build onto next year.
The man of the match was Cory flint
