Match Report | Dove Double

Both teams continued their good run of form with two excellent wins in the sunshine.

The First Team were asked to field at Mottram on a hot & humid day where conditions looked to favour the batting side. However, opening bowlers were superb in limiting runs and picking up regular wickets Dan Gilbride 4-44 and Sean Critchlow 2-27 from their 12 overs. Des & Duke 3-45 bowled well as the home side were restricted to 148-9.

In reply, Gilbride produced a terrific all round display hitting 86, and despite a couple of run outs, Tom Forder steadied the ship with 27 not out as Dove reached the target for the loss of 5 wickets.

The Second Team won the toss and elected to bat on a glorious day in Dove. Skipper Chez 35 and Reece 38 set up the innings before Adam Critchlow 45, Mark Turner 32 and Ben Bagshaw 45 not out ensured Dove hit maximum batting points as 240-6 was posted.

In reply and in the heat Dove worked hard and all bowlers picked up wickets as Tintwistle were eventually bowled out for 172 - another 20 points for Hawkesy’s men.
