Dove Holes 177/5 v Dinting 175ao
Dove Holes win by 5 wickets
After last weeks blip at Newton this week Dove hosted Dinting.
Grego won the toss and Dove had a bowl. For once Dove weren’t 100% on it with Knight and George putting on 42 for the 1st wicket. Change bowler Crich was then introduced though and struck twice in 2 balls to remove George and Townsend. Wata then struck soon after to remove the dangerous Knight with the score on 49. Form here Lythgoe and Singh batted well putting on a partnership of 104. Wata then removed Lythgoe for a well played 48 caught by Hally. From here dove smelt blood and bowled superbly picking up the last 6 wickets for just 22 including Singh for 67.
The returning Crich finishing with a superb 6 for 40. Dinting finishing 175 all out. A superb fightback from Dove- at half time this was thought to be somewhere around par with the track playing very well.
Hally and DJ opened up for Dove. Hally starting like a train dispatching anything loose from the Dinting attack with him smashing a quick-fire 46 before being dismissed with the score on 76. Singh then removed Gilly to leave us 79-2. Eddie joined DJ at the crease and these 2 steadied the ship taking Dove to 110 before Eddie fell.
The skipper joined DJ at the crease with these 2 putting on 31 before DJ fell for a very well played 55. Gem was next in with Dove needing 35 more to win- these 2 took Dove to 163 before the skipper fell for 26 including 2 trademark 6s down the ground. Baggy then joined Gem with these 2 knocking off the further 13 required with baggy finishing things off with a lovely 4 over extra cover. A superb chase by the Dove boys.
MOTM sponsored by Andy Gould was Crich for his superb spell of bowling

Buxworth 113ao v Dove Holes 116/4
Dove Holes win by 6 wickets
Dove 2s travelled to neighbouring Buggy on a muggy afternoon as they looked to move up the table with only 3 games to play. The hosts won the toss and Dove were put into field. Buggy started well with the openers riding their luck to a very respectable 40-0. Dove bowled and fielded well and eventually took the first presented chance to break what could have been a dangerous partnership. From here this is where Greeny flipped the game on its head.
From 40-0 buggy were quickly reduced to 51-5 with Stephen picking up 4 wickets and catching the other. Dove continued to work hard in the field as Bundy picked up 3 wickets in 4 balls finishing with figures of 4-21. Some quick glove work from Mickey J finished the hosts inning at 113 all out a total dove were more than happy with.
In response Dove started rather shaky with Kier being put down in the first over before Kieth was trapped in front of all three leaving Dove 4-1. Dove kicked on before being quickly reduced from 37-1 to 37-3.
The tower of power and Big Vern steadied the ship guiding dove to 97 before Chez chipped one up. This bought the finisher Dwayne Collins to the crease. The pair got dove over the line with Vern hitting a six into the score box to bring up his 50 and a Dove holes win. A great team result as Dove pick up 19 points
The Dove Holes jazz club man of the match was Stephen Green
