Dove Holes 271/6 v Tintwistle 151ao
Dove Holes win by 120 runs
This week Dove entertained Tintwistle at Hallsteads.
After a slight delay due to the drizzle Dove batted first. Gem fell early with the score on 13 after absolutely smashing one to square leg which Davies somehow clung onto. Eddie joined Hally at the crease with Hally being the aggressor looking good before he was caught and bowled by Brown for 33 with Dove 53-2. Dove fell to 81-6 with Scott and Brown bowling very well.
Forder and Joe Gregory were now at the crease and these 2 put a superb partnership on of 190. Both batting sensibly before unleashing in the latter stages. Bren rolling back the years to 2010 with some impressive hitting.
Forder brought up his century and then giving Bren the chance to bring his up needing 17 off the last 5 balls but unfortunately he only managed 8. Forder finishing 101no and Joe 91no to take Dove to 271-6.
Tint got off to a good start with a partnership of 25 before Wata struck with Eddie snaffling one in the gully with Davies falling. 1 brings 2 as wata struck again next ball baggy this time caught Mayne. From here Wata picked up another 2 to finish 4-48 and the Duke got the oversea to leave tint 60-5.
Gem then picked up Scott with his spin with the score on 88. From here Tint dug in and Dove were struggling for a breakthrough taking the score to 129. With Gilly on his sunbed Dove were lacking their usual firepower of quick bowling. Gem offered to charge in and “bounce them out”.
The offer of pace was accepted but he was told to bowl at the stumps which proved to be successful with him picking up the last 4 wickets in quick succession to finish with 5-23.
Dove winning by 120 - MOTM sponsored by Danny Newton had to be shared between Tom Forder and Joe Gregory

Bissenden Cup Final
Dove Holes 151/9 v Old Glossop 156/4
Old Glossop win by 6 wickets
Dove travelled to Hayfield to face OG in the Bissenden Final on a scorcher of a day.
Dove got off to a good start with Gem punishing anything loose in a quickfire 29 before he fell with the score on 41. DJ and Eddie too the score to 69 before they both fell.
From here on Dove lost regular wickets. Every time a partnership threatened – OG made a breakthrough to put the brakes on Dove. The Duke added some late impetuous to the innings hitting 2 6s to take Dove to 151 off their 40 overs. With Forder top scoring with 30. A below par score- fair play to the OG bowlers who bowled superbly to keep things tight.
Dove knew they needed early wickets and got the perfect start. Wata bowling Thorley with a peach first ball of the reply. He truck again quickly snicking Sagar off leaving OG 12-2. From here the oversea and Pennington dug in trying to see off the Dove pair of Wata and Crich. They looked to be doing just that until the oversea snicked one to Gem off Crich with the score now 38-3.
From here Pennington saw off the new ball pair and had a good partneship with the Sri Lankan taking the score to 93 before the returning Wata struck with Crich taking a good catch.
Dove couldn’t find any further breakthroughs with the Sri lankan playing the spin very well. Him and Mcgrail saw OG home in a good partnership.
Disappointing for Dove but an extremely good effort getting to 4 finals in a row- winning 2 of them. Congratulations to OG who were the better team on the day and thanks to hosts Hayfield
