Dove Holes 116ao v Whaley Bridge 61ao
Dove Holes win by 55 runs
This week Dove hosted Whaley at Hallsteads.
Higginbottom won the toss and stuck Dove in- a decision he would be delighted with as he produced a trimmer to bowl Jones first ball of the game. Eddie fell after a mix up between the wickets and Forder fell to another good ball from Higginbottom with Dove 15-3.
The skipper joined Gilly at the crease with these 2 moving the score onto 46 before Gilly fell for 16. From here on only Baggy offered the skipper any support with Dove bowled out for 116- the skipper falling last for a very well played 59.
A disappointing score but Dove knew that there was enough in the track and with early wickets they could be in with a sniff.
Crich struck in his 1st over bowling Simmonds. Holden took the aggressive approach quickly taking the score onto 25 before Gilly bowled him with a jaffa. From here Dove took charge with wickets falling very quickly with Whaley being bowled out for 61. Gilly bowling superbly finishing with 6-32 and Crich and Gem picking up 2 a piece.
MOTM sponsored by Jon & Shev Harris was shared by Jack Gregory and Dan Gilbride.

Birch Vale 134ao v Dove Holes 138/5
Dove Holes win by 5 wickets
On an overcast Saturday Dove travelled to the birthplace of the warhorse as they visited Birch in league action hoping to continue their good run of form. Skipper Hilly won the toss and Dove elected to bowl.
This decision proved fruitful with Ste Green picking up two wickets in his first over reducing the hosts to 6-2. After a few missed chances in the field Cory got one to nip back clipping the top of off stump to reduce the hosts to three down putting Dove firmly on top. Some slogging from Barrett as well some good shots from Freeman threatened a potential big total but change bowlers Roy and Johnson bowled well with young Roy finishing with figures of 4-41.
A dynamite run out from the boundary from Greeny left Birch 108-8 with them eventually finishing 134 all out. Not bad from Dove but they felt they’d given Birch 20 too many.
The Dove reply started brilliantly with Scow guiding one for 4 first ball of the innings. Things took a quick turn from the other end as Kier picked out a fielder first ball he faced leaving Dove 4-1. Dove looked to rebuild and push on Vern with 15 and Wayne with 14 left Dove 84-5 with 20 overs left.
Skipper Hilly batted fantastically putting away anything full or short and Running well aided by 12 not out from Bundy. Hilly finished 57 not out, a game winning knock from the skipper in a match that could have gone either way. Dove got over the line with a 6 from the skipper earning Dove 19 points against a keen Birch side.
A great result from Dove as they carry on there good form in the league as they look to put together a strong end to the season.
The Dove holes Man of the match was Mark Hill
