T20 Dove Holes 280-3 Buxworth 88 all out Dove’s T20 campaign began at Buxworth on a warm summers evening - warm enough for Big T to make the trip! Captain S Critchlow finally won the toss and elected to bat on a good deck. Openers Jack Gregory and D Jones quickly took advantage of the conditions and somewhat under strength Buggy attack and raced to 100 without loss with some big hitting and some fantastic cricket shots. The pink ball proved ideal to be spotted in the surrounding fields and trees. The opening partnership ended as Jones was caught for 45. Shortly after Gregory was also caught for 76 off just 36 balls featuring 9 sixes. A Critchlow and Joe Gregory joined the attack and there was no let up. As the two continued the run rate giving no chances. Critchlow finish on 95 not out off 35 balls featuring an impressive 12 sixes. Cameos from Joe (30) and R Forder (13) saw dove set Buxworth 280 at 14 an over to win. In reply J Hall (34) opened well as partners fell and was keeping up with the required in rate until the impressive Waterhouse (2-23) caught his edge and D Jones caught him with a fantastic full stretch left hand catch at fly slip. The dove bowlers frequently took wickets and kept things tight D Walker (2-3) and J Morris (2-29) picking up good wickets. C Barnett the only resistance with a cameo of 24. K Jones mopped up the tale with 2-0 of 1.3 overs as Buxworth were dismissed for 88. A strong start to the campaign as Dove hope to reach the finals day they will be hosting later in the season.
