Newton 138ao v Dove Holes 165ao

Dove Holes win by 27 runs

Dove travelled to unbeaten Newton on a glorious day, skipper Gregory won the toss and Dove batted first.


Openers Gilbride & Jones put 49 on for the first wicket before a flurry of wickets saw Dove slip to 68/4, Dan Jones hitting 35.


Tom Forder batted well hl scoring 50 and 27 extras from the hosts saw Dove reach 165 all out in 43.2 overs.


In reply, the hosts lost early wickets falling to 10/2 and then 67/5. The Newton middle order dug in taking the game towards a close finish but 3 for 41 from Dave Cartledge saw the hosts finish 27 runs short all out for 138.


Division Two

Dove Holes 144/7 v Charlesworth 145/6

Charlesworth win by 4 wickets


The Second Team faced Charlesworth First Team at Dove, won the toss and batted first.


Rob Hawkes hit a fine 60 but Dove were restricted to 144/7 in the 45 overs.


In reply, the visitors were reduced to 33/3 and then 91/6 but the lower middle order of Charlesworth reached the target 6 wickets down and with 2 overs spare. Cory Flint pick of the bowlers 3 for 21.

Sunday League Group A

Dove Holes 70ao v New Mills 69ao

Dove Holes win by 1 run


Dove hosted New Mills in the clubs first ever home Third Team game.


The home side won the toss and batted first, Charlie Scowen hit 14 and Mark Vernon 13 as Dove were all out for 70.


In a thrilling reply Dove picked up early wickets reducing the visitors to 41/8, 2 wickets for Kian Vernon and wickets from Danny Moss, Phil Jackson and Kieran Collins.


The New Mills lower ordered batted well to keep the game close then with one wicket left and one run needed Ted Johnson picked up his 4th wicket (4/6) as New Mills were all out for 69.

The Third Team who won by 1 wicket last week, won by 1 run this week, great viewing for the bumper crowd!
