Many of you would have seen work continue at DHCC during lockdown this week as we said goodbye to our long-standing changing rooms / storage hut.
Built during the Second World War the hut was originally part of a Prisoner of War camp which held Italians in the village.
The hut became our changing room around 1952 and was used by hundreds of players up until 2003 when our new pavilion opened. During its use many life lessons were taught, happy memories and life long friends we made!
Since 2003 the hut has continued to be used as a storage container and has actually been renovated with a number of new doors, roofs and most recently it even had an automatic electric door installed!
We will be replacing the hut with storage containers which will enable us to keep our ground equipment secure!
